We drove the &#8220;Ring Road&#8221; on our own in a camper staying in camp grounds each evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even with other tourist in the county once you get past 1 hour outside of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Reykjav%C3%ADk,+Iceland\/@64.1334231,-21.9925226,11z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x48d674b9eedcedc3:0xec912ca230d26071!8m2!3d64.146582!4d-21.9426354\">Reykjav\u00edk<\/a> they would turn around and go back to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Reykjav%C3%ADk,+Iceland\/@64.1334231,-21.9925226,11z\/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x48d674b9eedcedc3:0xec912ca230d26071!8m2!3d64.146582!4d-21.9426354\">Reykjav\u00edk<\/a> at the end of the day. So just after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.icelandtravel.is\/attractions\/skogafoss\/\">Skogafoss waterfall<\/a> we were mostly on our own. It was a fun and unique vacation  we got to share together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We wanted to get to the Western fjords but needed another full week to get through there. We decided to make a third trip and to do that by itself.
