Then it&#8217;s on up north, although I&#8217;m not currently aware of our destination.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;ll be riding in missing man formation since Richard Griffin will be leaving us to go back home to Fort Smith, Arkansas. It&#8217;s been fun having him around.<\/p>\n<p>Today is not going to be nearly as hot as yesterday as you can see by these high temperature predictions in the north-central part of the USA.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1197\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1197\" style=\"width: 768px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/hightoday20040804.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1197\" src=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/hightoday20040804.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"496\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1197\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Highs today<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>&#8230; and they are waiting on me to leave &#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Yep, everything yesterday was today wasn&#8217;t. It never rained and the weather was cool. Most of the day was in the 70&#8217;s and it started in the 60&#8217;s with cloud cover and mist and ended with clear skies and sunshine.<\/p>\n<p>So far our longest riding day together at some 400 miles. Some interstate but mostly open back roads in South Dakota. In fact, there were two boats there with the guy who made them.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1187\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1187\" style=\"width: 320px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0303s.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1187\" src=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0303s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0303s.jpg 320w, https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0303s-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1187\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Keel Boat<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This gentleman was full of good information on the facts about the keel boat. Apparently there is only a sketch of he original boat and no detailed plans so everyone is winging it in terms of interpretation. The one thing I can tell you is if this replica is any indication of actual weight of the boat I can&#8217;t imagine even 10 men trying to carry this thing even 10 feet on shore. It&#8217;s heavy and rides deep in the water. Seriously, how did they do this?<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1188\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1188\" style=\"width: 320px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0310s.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1188\" src=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0310s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0310s.jpg 320w, https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0310s-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1188\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Keel Boat with owner<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Our second stop was in a rest area that had a Lewis and Clark exhibit and a dedication to private Floyd who was the only person to die during the three year journey. It was a vary nice place in Sioux Falls. There was this huge bronze statue of Lewis, Clark and Seaman that was interesting. Probably 20 feet tall.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1190\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1190\" style=\"width: 320px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0314s.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1190\" src=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0314s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"320\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0314s.jpg 320w, https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0314s-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 320px) 100vw, 320px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1190\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lewis, Clark and Seaman<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Our third stop was to visit the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/place\/Spirit+Mound+State+Historic+Prairie\/@42.8730316,-96.9643467,2089m\/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x878e50db23dff561:0x5d0f75955a78648e!8m2!3d42.8742721!4d-96.95881\">Spirit Mound<\/a>&#8220;. Apparently, the Indians told Lewis and Clark that there were little devils on the top of he hill with bows and arrows who will kill them.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1191\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1191\" style=\"width: 640px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0321s.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1191\" src=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0321s.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" srcset=\"https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0321s.jpg 640w, https:\/\/westerman.photo\/wp-content\/uploads\/DSC_0321s-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1191\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Spirit Mound<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>They went up anyway and didn&#8217;t see any of the little people. All around you it&#8217;s rolling hills and scenes like this.
