Welcome to the main site documenting a trip from Saint Louis to Cape Disappointment following the Lewis and Clark “Corps of Discovery” trail. These pages chronicle my journey on a motorcycle from the beginning to the end of the Lewis and Clark expedition. We started this trip in May of 2004 and finished it 23 days later.<\/p>\n
Instead of boats, horses, and concerns about conflict along the frontier, my father and I chose to make the trip on a motorcycle. Instead of taking three years, we planned a cross-country journey and return home in a little over three weeks.<\/p>\n
The information here is written like a book in chapters. Each day constitutes a chapter in the journey. In each chapter you will find words, pictures, and observations of the landscapes, weather, wildlife, flora, fauna, and the unexpected moments that shape a trip like this.<\/p>\n
Unlike Lewis, no president asked me to undertake this expedition, and I will not have the pressure of reporting my findings to anyone in authority. Instead, I share them here with you simply for the enjoyment of the adventure.<\/p>\n
